Kristin Bunge, LPCC
Hello! I am excited you are here and reading this. You may already be on a path of creating a better life for yourself through the work of healing, or you may be just beginning. Wherever you are on your journey, I am here because I truly care for my fellow humans and am led by a passion to uphold some of my personal values that include service, wellbeing, and growth. I am energized by forming connections with others and by joining with my clients to bring out their own unique strengths and gifts. I lead from a place of genuineness, warmth, motivation, and steadfastness.
I am grateful to have stumbled upon DBT following the completion of my masters degree. DBT has opened my eyes to the inner workings of how I became the person I am today and how I can continue to be the best version of myself. It is through the main dialectic of DBT, acceptance and change, that we can tackle struggles you may have with unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. With the life skills DBT offers in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, one can begin to gain control of what once were out-of-control behaviors.
I have been in the mental health field for four years, providing therapeutic services in outpatient and intensive residential treatment settings. My training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, having worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing an array of challenges.
In addition to the work that I do, I really enjoy being outside, going for walks, connecting with my body through yoga, reading, cheering for the Lynx and Gophers, exploring new-to-me restaurants and coffee shops, and spending time with my family and friends.
