About Us
Tiny Tree Counseling is a thriving private therapy practice that specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). We are a collaborative team of therapists dedicated to helping individuals navigate emotional challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. Our practice is expanding, and we are looking for a dedicated DBT therapist to join our team. If not already trained, the right candidate will have the opportunity to receive funded DBT Foundational Training through Behavioral Tech, with a 2.5-year contract commitment.
Position Summary
We are seeking a therapist licensed in the state of Minnesota (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT) to provide individual therapy, co-lead weekly DBT skills groups, and become an integral part of our Minnesota DHS-certified DBT treatment team. As a 1099 contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your schedule while carrying a caseload of at least 6 clients in our Stage 1 DBT program, and co-leading weekly DBT skills group(s). If needed the practice will fund the week-long DBT Foundational Training through Behavioral Tech for the right candidate, with a requirement to complete the training within the first 6 months of joining the team, and commitment to a 2.5-year contract.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual therapy to clients in the Stage 1 DBT program, focusing on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Co-lead weekly DBT skills group(s) with another team member.
Provide 24/7 phone coaching access to clients in Stage 1 treatment.
Attend and actively participate in weekly DBT consultation team meetings.
Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
Collaborate with other DBT therapists to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
Complete DBT Foundational Training through Behavioral Tech (funded by the practice and if needed).
Foster a supportive, compassionate, and client-centered therapeutic program.
Qualifications
Fully licensed in Minnesota (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT).
Must carry professional liability insurance.
Must be able to provide all elements necessary for the job, including access to necessary technology or tools for remote work.
Ability to complete DBT Foundational Training within first 6 months of joining the team (if needed).
Experience with DBT therapy is strongly preferred.
Willingness to learn and implement DBT treatment protocols, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain a caseload of at least 6 clients in the Stage 1 DBT program and contribute to a constructive team environment.
Compensation
Pay is based on client load with the expectation of always carrying at least 6 clients in the Stage 1 DBT program. The pay range is 65%-80% depending on caseload.
Flexible hours (contract position).
Insurance credentialing and billing provided.
Independent contractor status (work from where you choose, or in-office sublease options available).
Fully funded DBT Foundational Training through Behavioral Tech.
